About Woody

Hi, my name is Jordan King; most people just call me "Woody". I am seventeen years old, and a JR at Central Union High School in El Centro, California.

While flying R/C Aircraft is my passion, I spent three years in competitive bicycle racing where I moved up to top 10% of United States in my age group. In those three years I moved through the novice to expert class running in year long seasons. I then went to competitive motorcross racing for 3 years and raced at many tracks in California. Before I was forced to quit because of injuries, I managed to pick up sponsors to help the cost of all the traveling and parts needed to compete at the top level.

I have been in RC planes for just about 4 years now. I started flying with a trainer that I shared with my dad, and then I progressed to a small gas profile of my own. I have had many gas planes since then, some of them costumed built one offs. I am currently flying a Funtana 90 with a Saito 125, and some Airfoilz foamies. I also have a 35% Von Extra 260 that is the largest of my fleet. My Extra 260 has a 104" wing span and is 25 lbs wet ready to fly! I am planning on starting to compete in IMAC now that I have a competitive aircraft to fly.

I am the youngest member at our field and have worked hard to earn the respect of the my fellow aviators. I like to credit my success to hard work and to all the experience modelers who have taken their personal time to mentor me. Now with my gaining experience, I enjoy the opportunity to “return the favor” and help other people with the sport.

My goals are to improve my aviation skills, as well as promote the hobby, to others, including younger flyers. I currently helping to promote 3DX Hobbies, Team Airfoilz, Innov8tive Designs, Frank Tiano, Performance Aircraft Unlimited, and Smart Fly. I'm a frequent poster on many of the R/C aviation web discussion groups (forums) such as Flying Giants, RC Universe, Watt Flyer, Team Flying Cirkus, and RC Groups.

I welcome the chance to work with manufacturers and resellers to promote their products in a positive and professional light. I have assisted my existing sponsors with shooting videos, as well as photo shoots and being active in the internet forums.
